Dark Matter eLiquid

Enjoy the wonderful flavor of our latest VapeSafe eLiquid - Dark Matter.

Dark Matter tastes like German chocolate cake. For those of you who have not had the fortunate to try a piece German chocolate cake recently, this is a great way to experience the flavor without getting any of the calories. German chocolate cake is a layered cake filled and topped with a coconut-pecan frosting. Traditionally sweet baking chocolate is used for the chocolate flavor in the actual cake. The robust filling and topping is a caramel made with egg yolks and evaporated milk. Once the caramel is cooked, coconut and pecans are stirred into the mixture. Finally, rich chocolate frosting is spread around the sides of the cake to hold in the filling.

Dark Matter eLiquid by VapeSafe captures the essence of German chocolate cake. Dark Matter eLiquid delivers plumes of vapor and rich chocolatey flavor that you'll want to enjoy again and again. Try Dark Matter today!

Description

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Summary: "Mortal Instruments includes: Plagiarism, Mary Sue's, Cliche's and more..."

I was on a vacation with my friends and had finished two of my books fairly quickly. I went to Wal-Mart to buy another book to keep me interested. I stumbled upon this one. I picked it up and decided to give it a shot--the plot seemed interesting enough: Clary Fray and her best friend Simon are thrust into the world of Shadowhutners (Nephilim, a race of human/angels) and Downworlders (vampires, werewolves, faeries, etc.) I read it quickly and finished it after a few hours.

***This review contains minor and major SPOILERS***

I will admit that Cassandra Clare was one of the better YA writers and her book City of Bones (and series) were better than average (certainly better than the House of Night series), but that's not really saying much. Ms. Clare had lots of room to improve. Like most reviewers have mentioned, the plot is everything but original. But, honestly, what is *truly* original? I do not fault Ms. Clare for using an unoriginal plotline that's been done to death (Big Bad needs big bad thing to do big bad deeds), but I fault her for what she does with the plot. It's important for me as a reviewer to let people know that nothing is truly original, especially when you read a lot of books in the "fantasy" genre, but Cassandra Clare fails to do anything to her unoriginal plot that makes it truly, "hers".

For one, the characters are lacking. Like many reviewers have mentioned, Clarissa "Clary" Fray is, at her core, a Mary Sue. A Mary Sue is someone who is unrealistically perfect, someone who gets everything yet gives back nothing. For example: Bella Swan is a Mary Sue. Zoey Redbird is a Mary Sue. Anita Blake is a Mary Sue. Ever Bloom...okay, well she's not exactly a Mary Sue, but she sure as hell is a dumbass. Jace, while intriguing, was nothing short of your generic anti-hero. Isabelle was your typical badass bitch who is actually has more depth than you think.

The plot twist at the end with ***IF YOU IGNORED MY EARLIER WARNING AND ARE STILL READING, THIS IS A SPOILER*** Jace and Clary supposedly being related to one another, felt cheap as if a cop-out. Ms. Clare's writing was average, chunky at times, but not nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be.

Yet, I still gave this book 3 out of 5 stars. Why? Because I enjoyed it. My advice for anyone who is thinking about reading it is: give it a try, but read with an open mind. From merely a critique standpoint, this book would have gotten a 2 out of 5 if I had not included that I *enjoyed* it. This book can only be as good as you want it, too. If you are a picky reader and is looking for a more thought provoking novel, then put this book down and run away. However, if you're looking for a fairly quick read that's fun and entertaining, I would recommend this book.

So overall, this book is nothing special, but it is enjoyable as long as you let yourself enjoy it. That being said, I did stick with the series and can, with a clear conscious in mind say that the next two books are better than this one and it is obvious how much Ms. Clare has improved on. If you liked this book, then read the next two because you will not be disappointed. If you were on the fence, I would suggest reading the next book. If you absolutely hated this book then there is no need to pick up the next two.

Overall Grade: A-/B+
3 out of five stars.

Other recommended books: City of Ashes (Book 2), City of Glass (Book 3), Clockwork Angel (prequel), Gemma Doyle Trilogy, Harry Potter series, Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong.

Summary: "Its not perfect but I liked it"

Ok, so I see that some people hated this series, but I really liked it. Is it perfect? No. Could some things be more consistant and smooth? Sure.

But I like the characters, though Clary, as the lead character, is not my favorite, she seems to not know who she is AT ALL. Which gives me a headache. I mean, self discovery is great and all but she thinks and says one thing and does the opposite. Theres nothing worse than wanting to yell at your main character all the time. The rest of it is entertaining and following up with the second and third book make it worht while. I did struggle at times to care about Clary or Simon, but I seemed to always care for Jace, Isabel, and even that turd, Alec.

Im giving this an "A-" and thats being generous for not wanting to give it a "B" because its right in between.

Summary: "contains unneeded anti-Jewish joke"

I read this book to see if it was appropriate for my 9 year old child to read. It contains a totally unneeded for the story line anti-Jewish joke that is in poor taste and not even funny. Really, it ruined the book for me and I think it shows poor judgement, poor editorial effort and makes me wonder about the character, or lack thereof, of the author.

Summary: "BEST BOOK. EVER."

This is the best book I have ever read, and I'm pretty picky. The only thing that bothers people is that it touches on some themes that some people find disturbing. I say get a gut or don't read it. it's really good and if you like fantasy books, give this a try :)
